The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company offers a paid, 10-week summer internship program that provides meaningful work experience and professional exposure to those interested in working in the actuarial field. Each intern will work in one of our five areas of practice - Pricing, Valuation, Modeling, Mortality Management and Inforce Product Management – and have the opportunity to interact with and learn from current associates of all levels.
As part of the Penn Mutual Actuarial Development Summer Internship Program, you will have the opportunity to experience what life is like as an actuary. You will be involved in important, relevant work from day one and gain invaluable experience to support your career development. The opportunities and training you will receive include:
During your time in the program, you’ll team with a member of our student program to help you adapt to and understand our corporate culture and provide advice on a variety of different topics. Your mentor will be available to discuss anything from work, to exams, to any general problems that you may be facing.

To be considered for the Actuarial Development Summer Internship Program, you must have a strong desire to pursue a career as an actuary and have excellent communication and computer skills. Passing an exam isn’t required to be eligible for this program.
